How to Set Up Setek Wi-Fi Extender

To set up your Setek Wi-Fi Extender, you have two options: the WPS or Web Browser. Let’s begin with the WPS method:

How to Set Up Setek Wi-Fi Extender through WPS

Step 1: Power On the Extender

Connect your extender to a functional wall socket close to your router. Wait a few seconds for the power light to illuminate.

Step 2: Press the WPS Buttons

Press WPS button on your router and hold it for 1-2 seconds. Then, locate the WPS button on your Setek Wi-Fi Extender and press it for a few seconds before releasing it.

Step 3: Establish a Connection with Your Router

After pressing the WPS buttons on both devices, wait for approximately 30 seconds as the extender restarts automatically. If the indicator light on your extender turns off and then back on, it indicates a successful connection with your router.

Step 4: Optimal Placement of the Extender

With the setup complete, find a suitable location for your extender. It should be positioned midway between your router and the area with a weak Wi-Fi signal. Remember that the chosen location must be within the range of your Wi-Fi network.

If you encounter difficulties during the Setek Wi-Fi Extender setup, make sure to follow the steps carefully. If issues persist, try the setup process again and consider resetting the Extender and your router before retrying.

Note: The WPS method exclusively works with routers that support WPS. If your router doesn’t support WPS, proceed to the following setup process using the Web Browser method.

How to Setup Setek Wi-Fi Extender through a web browser

If you encounter difficulties with the WPS method, you can set up your Setek Wi-Fi Extender through a web browser. This method allows you to use either your smartphone or computer to configure the extender. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Power On the Extender

Plug the Setek Wi-Fi Extender into a nearby wall socket and wait for the illuminating power indicator light.

Step 2: Connect to the Extender’s Wi-Fi Network

Using your smartphone or computer, search for the extender’s Wi-Fi network in the list of available networks. Look for a network named “SETEK” and connect to it.

Step 3: Access the Management Page

In most cases, the extender’s management interface will automatically appear. If it doesn’t, open a web browser on your device and enter “192.168.10.1” into the address bar. Using browsers like, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.

Step 4: Enter the Login Password

You will be directed to enter a password to log in on the management page. Use the default password “admin” and click on the Login button. The page will then scan for available wireless networks.

Step 5: Select and Configure the Wi-Fi Network

Select a Wi-Fi network to extend from the list and enter the password for that network. Makesure the passwords are same as your existing Wi-Fi network. Finally, click on the Connect button.

Note: The extender’s default SSID is the name of your existing Wi-Fi network with “-plus” appended at the end.

Step 6: Complete the Setup

Once the setup is complete, the Setek extender will automatically reboot. After it restarts, connect to the extender’s SSID to finish the setup process.

Step 7: Optimal Placement of the Extender

Position the extender between your router and the area where you experience weak Wi-Fi signals. Ensure that your chosen location falls within the range of your existing Wi-Fi router network.

Following these steps,to successfully set up your Setek Wi-Fi Extender via a web browser.

Resetting Your Setek Wi-Fi Extender

To reset your Setek Wi-Fi Extender, locate the WPS/Reset button on the device. Press and hold the button for approximately 10 seconds. The extender will reboot, indicating that the reset process has been completed.

Note: Ensure that the extender is connected to a power source before initiating the reset.

Dual-Band Capability of Setek Extender

The Setek Wi-Fi Extender is designed as a dual-band extender, providing support for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands. This means you can connect to either band depending on your preference and compatibility with your router. In addition, the extender is compatible with a wide range of routers, enhancing the flexibility of your Wi-Fi network.

Setting up a Setek Wi-Fi extender is a simple process that can greatly enhance the range and strength of your wireless network. By following the manufacturer’s instructions, which typically involve plugging in the extender, connecting to its network, and configuring the settings through a web interface, you can quickly establish reliable and extended Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home or office. With your Setek Wi-Fi extender properly set up, you can enjoy seamless connectivity in areas that were previously out of reach, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted internet experience for all your devices.
